The meat from our slow grown, grass fed animals is fantastic. Tender and full of flavour, you won't want to go back to buying supermarket lamb after you've had some of ours. Hogget features regularly on food programmes such as Masterchef and is a foodies favourite. Tender like lamb but with a stronger flavour. How meat used to be.
Mutton was called the "King of meats" and has even had poems written about it. Recently there has been renewed interest in it as it is such a wonderful meat. Mutton is any sheep over 2 years old rather than just old tired ewes. Our mutton is from 2 to 3 year olds who are in prime condition.
Lamb, hogget and mutton is usually available for purchase all year round. We sell it as boxes and collection is direct from our butchers. Buying this way is a very cost effective method of buying lamb. The meat is cut into leg and shoulder roasting joints, cutlets and chops, neck, breast and kidneys. These are individually sealed in vacuum packs and sealed in a waxed box. Currently we can only sell these as whole animals with a box containing approx 18kgs of meat so you will need plenty of space in your freezer.
